You Never Let Go

So I decided after a few weeks of sporadic blogging that I'm going to put myself on a schedule (or a "shed-ule" like they say in the UK). So for those of you faithful readers out there (both of you), I'll be posting on Mondays and Thursdays. And that's that.

Reflecting on yesterday's services, the highlight for me was the new song "You Never Let Go". What a powerful song! It has hit me lately that people are walking around wounded all the time. And how powerful it is to know that God isn't letting go of us...that He's always with us, through the calm and through the storm. If the song hit you in a powerful way, do me a favor and put a comment here with this post about your thoughts on the song.

Well, have a great week and we'll blog at you on Thursday!

I loved the song - I hear it about every morning on my way into work and each time...it brings tears to my eyes. Kevin, I would like to say that I think the TNB is terrific - I love your songs - I really enjoy the bands version of the "ole gospel songs" - I guess they are comforting and they make my heart so warm. Thank you and your band for each Sundays music.(Have you heard "I'll Fly Away" on 88.3. I don't know who the band is, but the woman kindof sounds like Bonnie Rait?"

Kevin, I loved the song the first time I heard it at the Indescribable Tour last spring. I loved it even more at TNC. I did NOT love the bug that was crawling across your back when we repeated the chorus at the end. There was no way I was jumping off my new keyboard platform to swat it off. Sorry, but it was freakin' me out. Awesome song though.

"Yes, I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
Still I will praise You, still I will praise You"

Reminds me of Habakkuk's prayer at the end of his book. "Though the fig tree does not bud, and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior."

Even though he's going through all this stuff at the moment, he knows God's promise and knows He will deliver on it when it's time. I absolutely love when I get to play ANY songs with the band, but that one especially stood out yesterday.

Karen: "I'll Fly Away" that you hear on the radio is Jars of Clay with Sarah Kelly. Sarah is a phenomenal worship leader who's just now gaining some attention. Having met her and talked with her at length in Colorado, she's got an awesome heart and a beautiful personality to boot. Couple that with such a unique voice and I think God's got some big plans for her.

please keep playing "you never let go." it is one of my favorites. i wonder what takes us so long to figure out that we are not holding on to god, it is the other way around?

when i was little, i thought it was My responsibility to keep up with my mom. if we went shopping or something, i felt that if i wondered off she would forget that she even had a child. (i was only 5) anyway, i guess i still kind of have a little bit of that fear inside about God, but "I will fear no evil. for my God is with me. and if my God is with me. whom then shall I fear. whom then shall i fear!" praise god that i can feel confident in Him. He never lets me go! I can't get lost!
